dear god I need to start calling these 'bi-monthlies'.
Hi there! Long time no update!
Plenty of things occurred before the New Year, and it was an all-around hectic mess from the last update onwards. I had a bunch of stuff to finish (and leave half-finished) before I took two weeks off, but I had some time to relax in-between the crunch-time. I went on a trip with my extended French class to a really nice market in Toronto- the scenery was absolutely lovely and I loved the atmosphere of the building! After, we ate at a French restaurant on the waterfront where we had to order our meal in French as well. About as socially awkward as it sounds for someone at an intermediate level in their second-language. My accent and pronunciation has definitely improved this past semester ;v;"
Did I mention that in the market there was a bakery with freaking macarons?! Gaaahhh;;; They were so expensive- but definitely worth it! Those things are my weakness lol
I also went to my school's winter semi-formal. Good times, ahaha.
Many more projects were being given and sobbed over (I haven't broken down yet tbh) and everyone at the school was getting into the holiday spirit slowly yet surely. Our christmas assembly on the last day was one to remember- the staff and students at my high school are great :'D
Which ties into the next point- my christmas haul!
It was a really nice and well needed break. Other than reuniting with some of my Twitter friends when they stayed over for a few nights, I spent most of the break alone and hibernating in my room, eheh;; It definitely helped in the end by getting rid of all of my stress. Of course I was still in contact with everyone lol. You should have seen the New Year's tweets from me, dear god. That was a hot mess.
- a few clothes, but some I bought myself with money I received~
- a pretty damn kawaii reindeer onsesie, which my parents (I probably killed myself laughing at the time) said they picked it out because of the very shiny desu eyes. dear lord;;
- volumes 2-4 of Attack on Titan, bought by myself
- Kaji Yuki's two CDs, 'Sense of Wonder' and 'Hello!'. They won't arrive until late next week at the earliest due to importing schenanigans
- gift cards, etc
- A nintendo 3DS, with Pokémon X and Animal Crosing: New Leaf!
- many other miscellaneous things I'm too lazy to list ayy
I did the 2013 Summary of Art (and I'll post it properly eventually when I'm not lazy enough to write the speech of a description to explain it all). Here's something for a laugh.
It's so hard to notice how far you've come in a mere 12 months until you've placed your work in one of these dandy things. Of course, as a given, I still have an extremely long way to go. But that's what's so great about art. As long as you never stop practising, you'll undergo never-ending improvements and developments to the style you call your own.
On the topic of art, have some forever unposted stuff/PaigeeWorld exclusives/WIPs! Too many, ugh
Self portrait pic of sorts I've adopted as my icons on various networks. Thinking of changing it for here soon as well. Drawn back in December!
Guy style experiments from this past week- Cleaning Levi and Jean!
Close-up WIP from 'A PaigeeWorld Christmas', drawn before the new year
Reaaaally horrid WIP I started tonight. I'm attempting major foreshortening and it looks kinda awkward right now, ahaha... Started watching the anime Noragami (which has Hiroshi Kamiya and Kaji Yuki- squeeeeeeeealllssss
) and I really enjoyed the pilot episode! It just started simulcasting the other week- I definitely recommend it. Anyways, that's what this mess is going to turn into, some fan-art!
I'm also watching Highschool DxD on the side. I laugh way too hard at that anime omg
-My art resolutions for the year are probably to a) keep developing my style b) improve my anatomy, linework, shading, the works, and c) to attempt to finish a complete picture at least once a month. So far, I don't even know if I'll be able to promise that for January with my exams coming up in a few weeks!
I hope everyone's 2014 is off to a great start, and I can't wait to see what's to come and what's in store!
Have a good one,
